Impact Announces Commencement Of Underground Drill Program

IMPACT Silver Corp. ("IMPACT") is pleased to announce that it has commenced underground drill operations at the Royal Mines of Zacualpan Silver Project. The program which recently commenced will initially test two primary targets: the San Ramón extension and Guadalupe Mine -- Lipton and Liptonia Veins. The wholly-owned underground drill rig was acquired as part of the mining production equipment purchase (see IMPACT new release dated March 14, 2006). The rig is expected to conduct drilling on an ongoing basis. This work will facilitate production in parts of the mine currently being developed as well as exploration in new areas.

San Ramón Extension

The underground drill program has begun with testing the San Ramón vein system beyond the active mining area. Present active mining is on Levels 8 and 9. Level 9 was the location of IMPACT's drill hole 2005-02 which intersected 6,013g/t silver and 2.31g/t gold across a true width of 0.8m. (see IMPACT news release dated May 16, 2005). Mine staff report encountering similar grades when they recently opened up the area for mining. The first underground drill hole is testing the San Ramón vein system at a location 400m northwest of the active mining and projected to intersect about Level 14 (mine levels are about 10m vertically apart).

Guadalupe Mine -- Lipton and Liptonia Veins

Most production from the Guadalupe Mine presently comes from the Lipton and Liptonia Veins. IMPACT plans to utilize the underground drill to test for subparallel and splay veins in the vicinity of the areas being mined. Such veins have proved to be a good source of extra production in the recent past. In late 2004, mine staff discovered the Lipton del Bajo Vein on the 195m Level of the Guadalupe Mine. This vein is a splay off the main Lipton Vein. Since this new discovery, mining has been carried out 10m above and 15m below the 195m Level on a 2m wide by 100m long mineralized shoot. Sampling by IMPACT soon after the splay vein was discovered returned variable assays up to 589g/t silver, 15% zinc and 9.9% lead across 1.5m. Overall grades were reported to be favourable for mining by mine staff. IMPACT plans to test for parallel veins systems by drilling 50 to 150m holes into the sidewalls of both the Lipton and Liptonia Veins.

The Royal Mines of Zacualpan Silver Project includes two operating silver mines, a 500-tonne-per-day operating plant (currently operating at about 200 tonnes per day) and associated mineral concessions covering 124.5km2 over most of the Zacualpan Silver District. Production is presently coming from the Guadalupe Mine in the center of the district and the high grade San Ramón Mine in the southeastern part of the district.
